Hospital Authority reminds the public to beware of scam calls

The Hospital Authority (HA) has issued a reminder to the public to be wary of fraudulent calls. The Hospital Authority received a report from the Prince of Wales Hospital (Prince of Wales Hospital) that members of the public received calls claiming to be from the Prince of Wales Hospital.

These calls involve prerecorded messages instructing recipients to follow certain instructions to collect documents. PWH reported the matter to the police.

Regarding the incident, the Hospital Authority emphasized that hospital staff have been directly contacting the patients by phone and providing relevant information to verify the identities of both parties. The public must exercise caution and not give out personal information over unknown phone calls. Any suspected scam calls should be reported to the police immediately.
