The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has announced the eagerly anticipated dates for two breathtaking fireworks displays at Victoria Harbour. The first display will take place at the East Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade on May 1, followed by a mesmerizing drone show at the Wan Chai Temporary Promenade on May 11. In addition to the May events, the HKTB has planned another remarkable drone performance to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival on June 10. Mr. Dane Cheng Ting-yat, the executive director of the HKTB, expressed the significance of these events during the Labour Day Golden Week, a peak travel season for mainland tourists. He emphasized the importance of trade partners in various sectors providing attractive tourism products and offers to stimulate the economy and maximize tourism-related receipts.
While acknowledging that fireworks displays and drone performances alone may not be sufficient to attract tourists, Cheng believes that these events contribute to creating a vibrant atmosphere that enhances the overall tourist experience. He also mentioned that other organizations are independently organizing their own fireworks displays and drone performances in different districts, which adds to the energetic ambiance and complements the Night Vibes campaign.
