Tsingtao Brewery Group said the investigation of the online circulating viral video of one of its factory workers urinating on raw ingredients was ongoing.
The alleged video that emerged online on Thursday (19th of October, 2023) shows a male worker at a Tsingtao Brewery plant climbing into a big tank and urinating into the contents.
The footage became viral and generally viewed on Chinese social media, Weibo which was racked up to tens of millions of views.
Tsingtao said on Friday that it had informed the police about the incident and investigation was ongoing.
The Tsingtao company said in a statement "Our company attaches high importance to the relevant video that emerged from Tsingtao Brewery No. 3 on October 19."
It was said further "We reported the incident to the police at the earliest opportunity, and public security organs are involved in the investigation."
"At present, the batch of malt in question has been completely sealed. The company continues to strengthen its management procedures and ensure product quality."
Hong Kong listed Tsingtao as China's second-largest brewer.

這 段影片在中國社群媒體微博上瘋傳，瀏覽量達數千萬次。
青島啤酒週五表示，已將此事通知警方，調查正在進行中。
青島啤酒在聲明中表示， “我公司高度重視10月19日青島啤酒三廠流傳的相關影片。”
並稱「我們第一時間向警方報案，公安機關已介入調查」。
“目前，涉案批次麥芽已全部封存，公司將繼續強化管理流程，確保產品品質。”
在香港將青島啤酒列為中國第二大啤酒生產商。
