**Tram Derails in Wan Chai, No Injuries Reported**

On the evening of June 4th, a tram derailed in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, but fortunately there were no injuries reported.

The incident occurred around 8 PM when the tram struck a wooden log that had been left on the tracks at the junction of Hennessy Road and Tin Lok Lane. The tram driver apparently did not notice the obstruction in time to stop.

As a result of the derailment, the tram service from Happy Valley Terminus to Shau Kei Wan Terminus, as well as the westbound tram service at the Canal Road West substation, were suspended for about 40 minutes.

Part of Hennessy Road (inbound to Sheung Wan) and Tin Lok Lane that were closed due to the accident have since been reopened to all traffic.

While the derailment caused a temporary disruption to tram service in the area, the quick response and lack of any reported injuries is a relief. Officials will likely investigate how the wooden log ended up on the tracks to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
