Free ice cream and the sparkles of drone-created images of bun towers, flower boards, dancing lions and temples would be displayed above Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour as special events to celebrate Buddha’s Birthday and Cheung Chau Bun Festival this weekend.
In the authority's efforts to draw more visitors to the city, a themed festivity of drones has been arranged to take place on Saturday at 8 pm.
A thousand drones with mesmerising images, such as a colourful flower board with waving flags and a 60-metre-tall bun tower would lighten up the Victoria Harbour, the board said.
In addition to that day's merriments, the Tourism Board would give free ice cream to the public between 6 pm and 8 pm at Wan Chai Pier.
The drones will create images of dancing lions and temples to mark Buddha’s Birthday on May 15.
The event will take place along the Wan Chai Harbourfront. However, it will not be visible from the Kowloon side, it was stated by the board.
