Hong Kong police treated the missing case as a “high-risk missing person” and knocked on doors on the outlying island to ask whether residents had seen him.
A Hong Kong lawyer who was announced missing since September 18 had been found safe on Friday as family keeps the details of where he was seen privately, the report said.
The man who is Chow by surname was found yesterday after an intense search by police around where his phone last became unreachable.
Concern escalated when Chow’s wife received a WhatsApp message from him around 7 AM on September 19, after which his phone became unreachable and communication ceased.
Police were afterwards alerted about his disappearance by his wife on Thursday evening and the case was treated as a “high-risk missing person” and knocking on doors on the outlying island to ask whether residents had seen him.
According to the report, the lawyer who lives in Tung Chung on Lantau Island went to his office in Admiralty on Wednesday morning and later dined with his wife at a restaurant in Wan Chai.
Thereafter, he informed his wife that he would be back home to take his personal belongings back to his office.
However, the lawyer did not return home, the report said.
The report added that police could not provide more details for now as to where the man was found because they hold on to his family’s wishes to keep the matter private.

報道稱，一名自 9 月 18 日起被宣布失踪的香港律師於週五被發現安全，因為家人私下保存了他見到他的地點的詳細信息。
昨天，警方在他的手機最後無法接通的地方進行了密集搜查後，發現了這名姓週的男子。
9 月 19 日上午 7 點左右，周先生的妻子收到了他發來的 WhatsApp 訊息，之後他的手機就無法接通，通訊也中斷了，這讓他的擔憂升級。
警方其後於週四晚間間接到其妻子的報警，將該案列為“高風險失踪人員”，並在離島挨家挨戶詢問居民是否見過他。
報道稱，居住在大嶼山東湧的律師週三上午前往位於金鐘的辦公室，其後與妻子在灣仔一間餐廳用餐。
隨後，他通知妻子，他將回家，將私人物品帶回辦公室。
然而，報道稱，律師並沒有回家。
報道補充說，警方目前無法提供有關該男子在哪裡被發現的更多細節，因為他們堅持其家人希望將此事保密。
