The dead body of a Southeast Asian woman in her 20s was reportedly found in a pond in Waterfall Park, Pok Fu Lam.
A married couple suspected of murdering a 25-year-old foreign domestic helper who was found dead in a waterfall in a park in Pok Fu Lam has been apprehended, Hong Kong police said.
According to the police spokesperson, the victim was a Southeast Asian woman whose dead body was found at Waterfall Bay Park near Wah Fu Estate on Monday morning, adding that the woman was believed to have drowned after she was hit by a hard object.
It was said further that the wounds discovered on the victim's forehead and the back of her head measured between two to four centimetres and there were wounds on her limbs as well.
The report said that the initial investigations by the police discovered the male suspect, a 34-year-old foreign national Hong Kong resident went with the victim to the scene at about 11 pm on Sunday until about 30-40 minutes before he left hurriedly alone in a taxi.
After homing in on the male suspect, investigators swooped on the couple’s home at Ap Lei Chau but found they had gone to mainland China, police said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of murder while his wife, a 36-year-old local woman, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender at the high-speed railway station in West Kowloon when they returned to Hong Kong at around 5 pm on Tuesday, police said.
Police said that investigation is yet to confirm the connection between the man and the victim but the suspect is not the victim’s employer.
The two suspects have been detained for inquiries.

報道稱，警方初步調查發現，男性嫌疑人是一名34歲的外籍香港居民，週日晚上11點左右與受害者一起前往現場，直至約30至40分鐘後才匆匆獨自離開。 。
警方表示，在鎖定這名男性嫌疑人後，調查人員突襲了這對夫婦位於鴨脷洲的家，但發現他們已經去了中國大陸。
警方稱，該男子因涉嫌謀殺被捕，而其36歲的當地女子妻子則因涉嫌在西九龍高鐵站協助罪犯於週二下午5點左右返回香港而被捕。
警方表示，調查尚未確認該男子與受害者之間的聯繫，但嫌疑人不是受害者的雇主。
兩名嫌疑人已被拘留調查。
