Law enforcement agencies in Mong Kok and West Kowloon districts joined hands with the Immigration Department to launch an inter-departmental operation yesterday to combat illegal immigration and illegal labour based on intelligence reports and extensive investigations.
During the operation, a total of 13 people were arrested, including 1 local man, 2 mainland Chinese men, 4 mainland Chinese women, 2 Indonesian women, 2 Thai women and 2 Vietnamese women. They range in age from 25 to 40 and face charges of "employing illegal workers", "violating conditions of residence" and "overstaying".
All those arrested have been detained for further investigation and some will be handed over to the relevant authorities in due course.
当局在旺角展开跨机构行动，拘捕13名非法入境者
旺角及西九龙区执法机构昨天联同入境事务处，根据情报和广泛调查，展开跨部门行动，打击非法入境及非法劳工。
行动中，共拘捕13人，包括1名本地男性、2名中国大陆男性、4名中国大陆女性、2名印尼女性、2名泰国女性及2名越南女性。 他们的年龄从25岁到40岁不等，面临“雇用非法劳工”、“违反居住条件”和“逾期居留”等指控。
目前，所有被捕人员均已被拘留进一步调查，部分人员将适时移交有关部门。
