A man suspected of using a gun-shaped object robbed a money exchange shop in Kwun Tong, making away with approximately HK$177,000. The incident took place on Friday afternoon around 1 pm. The suspect entered the shop on How Ming Street, brandishing a pistol-shaped object and demanding money. After collecting the cash, he swiftly fled towards Kowloon Bay.
Upon receiving the report, the police arrived at the scene and attempted to intercept the suspect in the area, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
According to witnesses, the robbery occurred while a customer was in the process of exchanging money at the shop. Security footage captured the incident, showing the robber intimidating the staff by taking out what appeared to be a pistol from his backpack. He then proceeded to steal Hong Kong dollars and Renminbi yuan.
The suspect is described as approximately 30 years old and fluent in Cantonese. During the crime, he was wearing a black shirt, black trousers, a cap, and carrying a black backpack.
The police are actively searching for the suspect. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to come forward and assist with the investigation.
