Police said on Thursday that some roads in the direction of Hong Kong Stadium would be closed over the weekend.
The road control measures are to be arranged as Lionel Messi, the Argentine professional footballer who is regarded as the greatest of all time of the League Soccer club Inter Miami and his teammates to be in the city for a pre-season friendly match against SAR Squad from the local premier league.
The League Soccer club, Inter Miami will come to Hong Kong on Friday. The team including Messi will be at the stadium on Saturday for an open training session while the match will be played on Sunday.
Police said that the roads in Causeway Bay, Tin Hau and those around the stadium will be closed from 2 pm.
It was added that around 40,000 spectators are expected in the stadium on Saturday and Sunday for the sports event.
The police spokesperson said, "There are many famous international football stars coming to Hong Kong for this major event. Many people may be really excited about going there and seeing them in person".
Adding that "The roads in that area are very narrow and there are a lot of vehicles. So for safety purposes, I don't recommend people to gather in these places and chase after them as it can be dangerous".
Police said the stadium will be made accessible between 3 to 3.5 hours ahead and only those with tickets would be allowed in the stadium, including areas around Caroline Hill Road, Eastern Hospital Road and Cotton Path.
People are therefore advised by the police to use public transport to get to the sporting event for those two days.

因此，警方建議人們在這兩天搭乘大眾運輸工具前往觀看體育賽事。
