Starting Saturday, August 31, the MTR Corporation will implement a significant service enhancement, adding a total of 112 additional train services weekly on the East Rail Line, Tseung Kwan O Line, and Tuen Ma Line. This initiative is designed to improve capacity during peak travel times.
East Rail Line Improvements
On the East Rail Line, service frequency will increase between Lok Ma Chau and Lo Wu. Trains to Lok Ma Chau will now operate every 8.6 minutes on average, down from 12 minutes. Meanwhile, services to Lo Wu will run every 5.5 to 6 minutes, a reduction from the previous 6.7 to 9-minute intervals.
Tseung Kwan O Line Adjustments
The Tseung Kwan O Line will also see improvements, with train intervals between Po Lam and North Point shortened from approximately 5 minutes to 4.5 minutes during Saturday evenings. Additionally, trains between Hang Hau and Tiu Keng Leng will now run every 9 minutes.
Tuen Ma Line Changes
On the Tuen Ma Line, there will be a slight increase in service frequency during the weekday evening peak between 6 PM and 7 PM.
Supporting the New Academic Year
In anticipation of the new academic year commencing on September 2, the MTR will deploy extra staff at key stations and closely monitor operations to ensure a smooth experience for commuters. Furthermore, the Light Rail will introduce a special morning service, Line 720, from Siu Hong Station to Tin Wing Station, to assist students and residents in the Tuen Mun area.
This service enhancement aims to provide a more efficient and reliable transportation option for all passengers.
港鐵增強服務，週六起增設112班列車
從週六（8月31日）起，港鐵公司將實施重要的服務增強，每週新增112班列車，涵蓋東鐵線、將軍澳線和屯馬線。此舉旨在提升高峰時段的運載能力。
東鐵線改善
在東鐵線上，羅湖和落馬洲之間的服務頻率將會增加。前往落馬洲的列車平均每8.6分鐘一班，較之前的12分鐘大幅縮短。同時，前往羅湖的列車將會每5.5至6分鐘一班，從原本的6.7至9分鐘減少。
將軍澳線調整
將軍澳線的列車服務也會改善，於週六晚上，寶琳至北角之間的列車間隔將由約5分鐘縮短至4.5分鐘。此外，坑口至調景嶺之間的列車將改為每9分鐘一班。
屯馬線變更
屯馬線在週一至週五的傍晚高峰時段（下午6時至7時）也會略微增加服務頻率。
支持新學年
為了迎接9月2日開始的新學年，港鐵將在主要車站增派額外人手，並密切監察運作，以確保乘客的順利出行。此外，輕鐵將推出特別的早晨服務720線，從小瀝站至天榮站，旨在協助屯門區的學生和居民。
這次服務增強旨在為所有乘客提供更高效和可靠的交通選擇。
