The Hong Kong Observatory has forecasted that the mercury levels in the city are expected to drop to 14°C next week as an intense monsoon moves towards Hong Kong.
According to the Hong Kong weather watchdog on Friday, a fresh to strong easterly airstream would affect the coast of Guangdong in the next couple of days.
However, the weather over the weekend will be fine, with occasional patches of rain in the morning and evenings. Temperatures will range from 19 - 23°C.
It was stated that an intense northeast monsoon is expected to reach the coast of southern China from Monday to Tuesday and temperatures are expected to fall progressively.
“There will be a few showers and temperatures will fall appreciably over the region,” the forecaster said.
“The temperature difference between day and night will be relatively large.”
HKO said that temperatures will fall to a low level of 14°C on coming Thursday with showers on Monday before the weather turns fine and dry in the later parts of the week.
