On July 1, 2024, a 23-year-old Hong Kong woman named Suki Lee who had gone missing for 4 days in Tokyo was found safe and sound at a local police station.
Lee had traveled to Tokyo with her friend Choi on June 14 and was scheduled to return to Hong Kong last Friday. However, Lee went missing on Thursday, June 29. Choi reported Lee's disappearance to the local police after not being able to reach her.
According to Choi, she had seen Lee sleeping in their hotel room around 10:15am on Thursday, but when Choi returned to the hotel around 4pm, Lee did not respond to her texts. Lee remained unreachable even after the last train had departed that day.
Japanese police initially told Choi that she would have to wait 24 hours before they could open an official missing persons case. Choi was eventually able to file the report around 2pm local time on Friday. She also contacted the Chinese embassy, but was told the case needed to be reported by Lee's family.
Choi noted that Lee had previously posted on social media about being approached and flirted with by strangers on the streets in Tokyo, which had worried Choi. After returning to Hong Kong, Choi contacted the Hong Kong police for assistance in the search.
Finally, on Monday morning around 10am, Choi received the good news that Suki Lee had been found safe and sound at the Harajuku Police Station in Tokyo. The Hong Kong Immigration Department has since been in contact with the Hong Kong police and Lee's family.
Lee is currently assisting police with their investigation into her disappearance, the details of which have not yet been revealed.
失蹤4日後香港女子在東京平安獲尋回
2024年7月1日，一名23歲的香港女子李淑儀在東京失蹤4天後,終於在當地警局被尋回,並安然無恙。
李女與朋友蔡女士於6月14日一同前往東京旅行,原定上星期五(6月30日)返回香港。然而,李女於6月29日(星期四)失去聯繫。蔡女士在聯繫不到李女後,立即向當地警方報案。
據蔡女士透露,她在6月29日早上10時15分曾看見李女在酒店房間內熟睡,但下午4時回到酒店時,卻無法聯絡上李女,連最後一班火車都已經開出,李女仍然音訊全無。
日本警方最初告知蔡女士,她必須等待24小時才能正式立案。蔡女士最終在當地時間星期五下午2時向警方成功報案。她亦曾聯繫中國駐日本大使館,但被告知此案件必須由李女的家人報案。
蔡女士又提到,李女過去曾在社交媒體上分享被東京街頭的陌生人搭訕及調情的經歷,令她擔心不已。蔡女士在返回香港後,亦有通知香港警方協助搜尋。
終於在星期一上午10時左右,蔡女士收到好消息,稱李女已於東京原宿警署被安全尋獲。香港入境事務處其後已聯絡香港警方及李女的家人。
李女現正協助警方調查失蹤期間的行踪,有關詳情仍有待進一步披露。
