Minimum Temperature in Hong Kong Expected to Drop to 23°C Next Tuesday

The Hong Kong Observatory has issued a weather alert indicating significant changes in conditions over the coming days. A minimum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius is forecasted for urban areas by next Tuesday.

This shift is attributed to a broad trough of low pressure over the northern South China Sea, which is currently causing heavy showers and squally thunderstorms along the Guangdong coast. The situation is expected to worsen with the arrival of a northeast monsoon tomorrow morning, bringing fresh and gusty winds.

For Sunday, daytime temperatures are expected to hover around 28 degrees Celsius, dropping to approximately 25 degrees overnight. As the monsoon takes effect on Monday, residents should prepare for increased winds and frequent showers, particularly in the morning.

By Tuesday, unsettled weather is predicted to continue with ongoing showers, and temperatures may decrease to about 23 degrees in urban areas, potentially a few degrees lower in the New Territories. The Observatory advises the public to stay alert and prepare for the changing conditions, especially as heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding and other disruptions.
