Hong Kong Observatory has forecasted hot and sunny weather later in the week but there is an expectation of more rain and thunderstorms before Hong Kongers will begin to experience the heat.
According to the HKO forecast, the trough of low pressure brought more gloomy weather on Sunday, with thundery showers expected to move eastward gradually with rain ease in the evening.
There would be sunny periods with one or two showers on Monday but frequent showers with thunderstorms will return from Tuesday to Thursday, as another trough of low pressure is expected to form over the northern part of southern China and edge closer to the coast by midweek, the report said.
The observatory said further “With an anticyclone aloft strengthening, the weather over the coast of Guangdong will improve gradually and it will be hot during the day towards the weekend".
HKO said that the city should be expecting sunny periods from Friday, with intense sunshine on Monday and Tuesday next week. The temperatures would range from 26-32 degrees Celsius (78.8 to 89.6 Fahrenheit).

天文台進一步表示，「隨著高空反氣旋加強，廣東沿岸天氣會逐漸好轉，直至週末白天天氣炎熱」。
天文台表示，預計從週五開始，香港將迎來晴朗天氣，下週一和週二將迎來強烈陽光。 溫度範圍為 26-32 攝氏度（78.8 至 89.6 華氏度）。
