On January 5, 2025, it was reported that Hong Kong will be facing cool temperatures next Friday, with the mercury expected to drop to around 12°C in the mornings.
The weather across southern China has generally been pleasant and dry, with local relative humidity remaining at or below 50%. Tonight, a replenishment of the northeast monsoon is anticipated to affect Guangdong.
In Hong Kong, the forecast for tomorrow indicates predominantly fine and dry conditions, with cool mornings. Urban areas can expect minimum temperatures around 15°C, while the New Territories may experience slightly cooler weather. Daytime temperatures are projected to reach approximately 21°C, accompanied by light to moderate northerly winds, which will transition to moderate easterlies by tomorrow.
Looking ahead, the cool mornings will persist over the coming days, with increasing winds and a gradual rise in cloud cover that may lead to light rain. A notable drop in temperatures is expected by Thursday, with Friday and Saturday mornings forecasted to be around 12°C. Despite this, the dry northeast monsoon will maintain generally fine weather in Guangdong, although inland areas might see significant day-night temperature fluctuations. An easterly airstream is also set to impact coastal regions, bringing windier and slightly cloudier conditions as a winter monsoon approaches southern China.
