Hong Kong police announced on Tuesday to the public that the operations to clamp down the illegal vehicle activities in the city will commence from Wednesday, a campaign to combat misconduct such as unlicensed taxis, illegal parking and more.
The efforts are in preparation towards the approaching Labour Day Holiday as police are launching the operations that are named "KICKSTARTER" and "CELLBREAKER" across the city from the 24th of April to the 8th of May.
The illegal activities that police would be tackling strictly include the parking of vehicles to obstruct others and the use of unauthorised cars to carry passengers for reward purposes.
Apart from the crack-down operations, police would additionally educate the public about traffic rules and regulations by giving leaflets, souvenirs and other educative materials to the residents as well as visitors in the city.
Police urged the public and visitors to pay attention while travelling by taxi to notice and notify them of any suspicious overcharging fare or other misconduct after recording such driver information.
Traffic safety should be the shared responsibility of all road users and everyone is to abide by the laws involved, all drivers are expected to stay professional and continue to keep the good reputation of the industry and Hong Kong, police added.

警方週二宣布，將進行公共行動，打擊該市的非法車輛活動，並將於週三開始打擊無牌計程車、非法停車等不當行為。

警方也呼籲民眾和遊客在乘坐的士出行時留意，發現任何可疑的多收車費或其他不當行為，並通知警方，並記錄司機資料。
警方補充，交通安全應是所有道路使用者的共同責任，每個人都應遵守相關法例，所有駕駛應保持專業，繼續保持行業和香港的良好聲譽。
