The part of the human dead body was found at the surface of Hung Hom waters and Hong Kong police have said they are looking into the occurrence.
Police said they received a call reporting that a human body part was found at the surface of Hung Hom ferry pier waters at 9.54 am on Sunday.
The emergency services arrived at the scene, recovered the remains which had been decomposed and covered it up.
The police revealed after the investigation that the remains were part of the person's body from its pelvis to the knee part, however, there is no identity about age and gender yet.
Police said further examinations would be conducted while the Kowloon City district crime unit is investigating the case.
香港警方開始調查紅磡碼頭水面發現的部分人體
部分人體屍體在紅磡水面被發現，香港警方表示正在調查此事。
警方表示，週日上午9時54分，他們接到報警稱，紅磡渡輪碼頭水面發現了人體殘骸。
緊急救援人員趕到現場後，發現了已經腐爛的遺體並進行了掩埋。
警方經調查後透露，遺骸是該人從骨盆到膝蓋部分的身體部分，但目前尚不清楚年齡和性別。
警方表示，九龍城區重案組正在調查案件期間，將進行進一步調查。
