Hong Kong police arrested two men who presented themselves as police to rob a sex worker of HK$38,000

Hong Kong police apprehended two men on Friday who allegedly posed as police to rob a 25-year-old sex worker of HK$38,000 at a Hong Hom hotel on the 23rd of December.

The two suspects are reported to be a 32-year-old and 52-year-old who are transporter and jobless person respectively.

The victim reported the two came as police but later attacked her, took the money and left her with arms and knee injuries, police said.

Police also said a similar case happened on the 6th of December where two men were also suspected of robbing a 19-year-old sex worker of HK$25,000 in the same hotel. But in this incident, the two were not reported to be disguised as the police force.

The police spokesperson said “A police investigation found that both victims were sex workers and used social media platforms to attract customers and arranged for them to meet at a hotel room to engage in sexual transactions. “The two men, in both cases, pretended to be customers and headed to the rooms to commit the crimes",  he added.

The two were reported to be caught after a police investigation and collection of information through CCTV footage. The transporter was apprehended in Mong Kok on Wednesday while the other who is jobless at Ma On Shan on Thursday on suspicion of theft, robbery and impersonation of police officers, the force said.

The police spokesperson said that searching of the suspects’ apartment had led to the discovery of clothes worn by the robbers, as well as phones used during the incidents.

Also, they were investigating if the two men particularly focused on sex workers on robbery, he added.

It was finally said that the two suspects neither had carried a warrant card or police as they claimed to be.

警方還表示，12月6日發生了類似案件，兩名男子也涉嫌在同一家飯店搶劫一名19歲性工作者25,000港元。 但在這起事件中，並沒有報道兩人偽裝成警察。

警方發言人表示，警方調查發現，兩名受害者均為性工作者，利用社群媒體平台吸引顧客，並安排他們在飯店房間見面進行性交易。 他補充說：「在這兩起案件中，這兩個人都假裝成顧客並前往房間實施犯罪」。

據報道，警方調查並透過閉路電視錄影收集資訊後，兩人被抓獲。 警方表示，該運輸工於週三在旺角被捕，另一名運輸工週四在馬鞍山被捕，因涉嫌盜竊、搶劫及冒充警務人員。

警方發言人表示，搜查嫌犯的公寓後，發現了劫匪穿的衣服以及案發時使用的手機。

他補充說，他們還在調查這兩名男子是否特別關注搶劫性工作者。

最後據說，兩名嫌疑犯都沒有攜帶授權證，也沒有像他們聲稱的那樣攜帶警察。
