Hong Kong Police arrest two men for violating drone regulations in Hong Kong's restricted airspace

Two individuals have been apprehended by law enforcement in Hong Kong for allegedly breaking the drone regulations known as the Small Unmanned Aircraft Order (Cap.448G).

The arrests occurred during the New Year's Eve fireworks display at Sir Cecil's Ride and Central Pier 10, where a large crowd had gathered. The Hong Kong Police Force announced the incident on their Facebook page. The suspects are accused of violating the operational guidelines outlined in the Small Unmanned Aircraft Order and were found in possession of two small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).


The police reiterated that Victoria Harbour is a restricted airspace, and flying drones without proper authorization is strictly forbidden and punishable by fines of up to HKD 100,000 and imprisonment for up to two years.
