PHUKET: A man from Hong Kong has been arrested and charged for allegedly running a tour company and as well working as a tour guide in the resort island province, Bangkok Post reports.
According to the Bangkok Post,
the police said the 32-year-old Hong Kong man named Wong Tsz Kin, was arrested at a car park near Phuket Big Buddha, officially known as Phra Phutta Ming Mongkol Eknakakiri, on Nakkerd Hill in Tambon Karon of Muang district around 5 pm on Tuesday.
The report said that Mr Wong was charged with working as a tour guide with no tour guide licence and running an unauthorized tour company as a foreign national in the country without a work permit.
According to the police statement via the Post, the suspect had sold a tour package to a Chinese tourist online. He arranged a pickup vehicle from the airport and then took them around the attractive places on the Island as a tour guide.
The report said Wong had been handed over to the police investigator at Karon station for legal action.
