Hong Kong Bank, Tech professionals earn more than their counterparts in Singapore, BI reports

The professional earnings in Hong Kong are comparatively higher than the Singapore counterparts, according to a Bloomberg Intelligence report published on Wednesday.

The BI report said analysts in Hong Kong make an average of US$92,149 a year compared with US$63,305 in Singapore. Associates make almost US$123,000 or 36 per cent higher while Executive directors at investment banks earn about 13 per cent more in Hong Kong.

Overall, it was detailed that the private bankers in Singapore earn less than their counterparts in Hong Kong. Also, relationship managers were reported to make around US$128,000, or 13 per cent more than in Singapore.

The technology industry professionals in Hong Kong such as AI developers, data and application architects are also paid higher salaries as there are shortage of talent in the city, BI said.

The professional earnings in Hong Kong are still higher than in Singapore despite its thriving wealth management sector, BI report said.

The earning figures were cited from recruiting firm, Micheal Page and Hays Asia survey, BI said.
