A taxi driver in Hong Kong is being praised for his heroic actions after a video of him saving a young boy on Gloucester Road went viral.
The incident took place around 11 a.m. and was captured on camera. The footage shows a distressing scene where a boy, easily identifiable by his backpack, is seen wandering along the busy Gloucester Road towards Causeway Bay. Vehicles on the road can be seen swerving and slowing down to avoid hitting the child, while drivers honk their horns and shout at him to move to safety.
Despite the increasing noise and obvious danger, the boy seems oblivious to the commotion around him and continues to walk along the road, putting himself at risk.
In the video, the taxi driver exits his cab and approaches the boy with determination. Despite the child's attempts to avoid him, the driver persists, calling out to him and finally managing to grab hold of the boy's backpack. Although the boy tries to slip out of his bag to escape, the driver holds onto him firmly and guides him away from the hazardous situation on the road.
