Heat stress warning continues today in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Observatory issued a very hot weather warning early this morning at 6.45 am and the heat stress alert was raised shortly after 8.30 am.

The Labour Department reiterated the laid down regulations to be followed by the employers for their outdoor workers in the scorching period. The workers involving moderate, heavy and very heavy physical workloads should rest for 15, 30 and 45 minutes per hour respectively when the amber warning is in force.

Environmental Protection Department also issued a warning notice yesterday about the high pollution level in the city. "The high levels of pollution were likely to remain for several days," the department said.

香港天文台於今早六時四十五分發出酷熱天氣警告，並於早上八時三十分後不久發出高溫警報。

勞工處重申雇主在炎熱時期外出工作須遵守的規定。 當黃色警告生效時，從事中度、重度和超重體力工作的工人應分別每小時休息 15、30 和 45 分鐘。
