A video has been released revealing three elderly Israelis among the hostages pleading for their release, according to recent reports.
These three elderly whose names are reported to be Chaim Peri, 79, Yoram Metzger, 80, and Amiram Cooper, 84 were included in the hostages by Hamas over the October 7 terrorist attacks on Southern Israel during the festival.
In the video released, one of the three elderly hostages, Mr Peri speaks to the camera, that he and other elderly hostages who have deteriorating health issues are "suffering greatly in very harsh conditions". Then, he pleaded for Israel to secure their unconditional release.
Mr Peri was said to be a his house in Kinbutz Nir Oz when he gave himself up to Hamas gunmen on October 7 to save his wide which has remained hidden.
However, Israeli authorities have condemned it as a "criminal, terrorist video", showing "Hamas's cruelty against very elderly civilians, innocents who need medical care".
In a television briefing, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said "Chaim, Yoram and Amiram. I hope that you hear me this evening". "Know this — we are doing everything, everything to return you safely."
Mr Cooper and Mr Metzger were captured along with their wives, both of whom were returned to Israel during the truce.
On their relative's response, Mr Metzger's daughter-in-law Ayala Metzger said she felt both joy and shock when she saw the video.
"It was joy for a moment to see them alive," she said.
"It was shocking to see them like this," she added, referring to their grown-out beards, and looking weak and pale.
The video release comes as Hamas official Osama Hamdan reiterated on Monday any negotiations on a hostage exchange were off the table until Israel stops its war on Gaza.
Hamdan said, "We are open to any initiative aimed at stopping this aggression, from brothers in Qatar and Egypt".
