Fragrant Flowers Exhibition at Hong Kong Park

Starting September 20, the Forsgate Conservatory in Hong Kong Park will host an exhibition featuring a variety of fragrant flowers. Organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, this event invites the public to explore around 700 species known for their delightful scents.

Among the highlights are:


- Arabian Jasmine: The national flower of the Philippines and Indonesia, it boasts white flowers that are not only fragrant but also used in tea.


- Orange-Jessamine: This resilient plant produces white flowers with a strong aroma, making it popular for hedging.


- Crepe Jasmine: Valued for its refreshing scent, this plant is a favorite in garden landscaping.


- Kwai-Fah: Known for its tiny yellowish-white flowers, it has a lasting fragrance often used in desserts and floral liqueurs.


- Banana Shrub: Its pale yellow flowers emit a scent reminiscent of bananas, and its Chinese name translates to "wearing a smile."


The exhibition will also feature display boards with information on each species' characteristics, planting tips, and propagation methods. Visitors can enjoy the exhibition daily from 9 am to 5 pm until October 31, with free admission. The conservatory is located at 19 Cotton Tree Drive, Central.



香花展覽於香港公園舉行


從9月20日起,香港公園的福斯蓋特溫室將舉辦一個香花展覽,邀請公眾探索約700種以怡人香氣聞名的植物。此活動由康樂及文化事務署主辦。


展覽的亮點包括:


- 阿拉伯茉莉:菲律賓和印尼的國花,白色花朵不僅芬芳,還可用於泡茶。


- 橙花:這種耐寒植物的白色花朵散發著濃郁香氣,常被用作籬笆。


- 絹花:因其清新的香氣而受到喜愛,常用於園藝美化。


- 桂花:以其細小的黃白色花朵著稱,持久的香氣常用於甜品和花草酒。


- 香蕉灌木:其淡黃色花朵散發著類似香蕉的香氣,中文名稱意為「帶著微笑」。


展覽還將設置介紹每種植物特徵、種植技巧和繁殖方法的展示板。公眾可於9月20日至10月31日期間每天上午9時至下午5時免費參觀。溫室位於中環棉樹街19號。
