The flights from Hong Kong to Shanghai have been cancelled from 5 pm on Sunday as well as those from Shanghai to the city due to the approaching Typhoon Bebinca.
According to the Airport Authority reports, eight flights travelling to Pudong or Hongqiao have been cancelled and also four flights arriving from Shanghai as of 2 pm.
The Hong Kong Observatory said Bebinca was centred about 500 kilometres east-southeast of Shanghai at noon and was forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour across the East China Sea and edge closer to the coast of eastern China.
It was noted that Bebinca would then move inland and weaken gradually.
Meanwhile, in the Philippines, falling trees have killed six people in central and southern Philippines after a fierce tropical storm brought strong winds and floods, officials said Sunday.
