The mother of former first lady Melania Trump, Amalija Knavs has died at the age of 78.
Her death was announced on Tuesday night by Mrs. Trump, the former first lady, on X. Trump did not disclose the cause of her death.
“It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Amalija,” Trump wrote on X Tuesday.
“Amalija Knavs was a strong woman who always carried herself with grace, warmth, and dignity. She was entirely devoted to her husband, daughters, grandson, and son-in-law. We will miss her beyond measure and continue to honour and love her legacy.”
Amalija Knavs was a former Slovenian factory worker who became a United States citizen with the help of one of her daughters.
