On March 6, 2025, the Hong Kong Observatory issued a Cold Weather Warning at 4:20 PM, predicting chilly conditions throughout the region tonight and into the following morning. Urban areas are expected to experience minimum temperatures around 12 degrees Celsius, with slightly lower temperatures anticipated in the New Territories.

Residents are advised to dress warmly and ensure proper indoor ventilation. The current weather is influenced by a northeast monsoon affecting southern China, accompanied by a broad band of clouds that is bringing occasional rain to the area.

Tonight and tomorrow, the weather is forecasted to be predominantly cloudy with occasional rain patches. Cold conditions will persist, particularly during the night and early morning, with maximum daytime temperatures reaching approximately 15 degrees Celsius. Winds will be moderate to fresh, occasionally strong in higher areas.

Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to remain low on Saturday morning but will gradually rise, with brighter weather anticipated early next week. By midweek, forecasts indicate a return to humid and foggy conditions as a warm maritime airstream moves into the coastal regions. The northeast monsoon is expected to influence southern China again toward the end of next week, resulting in another drop in temperatures.
