British Man Charged with Murder of Indonesian Domestic Helper, Court Appearance Scheduled

A British man is set to appear in court tomorrow, facing charges for the murder of a 25-year-old Indonesian domestic helper at Waterfall Bay Park. The victim's body was discovered submerged at the base of the waterfall early Monday morning, showing signs of injury to her forehead and the back of her head, indicating a violent assault prior to her drowning.

The investigation quickly identified the 34-year-old suspect, who holds a Hong Kong ID. He was arrested alongside his 36-year-old wife at West Kowloon Station on Tuesday. The couple had attempted to flee to Mainland China shortly after the incident but returned to Hong Kong, where they were detained.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect will appear at the Eastern Magistrates' Courts tomorrow morning to face murder charges. His wife, believed to have aided in the crime, has been released on bail and is required to check in with police later in November.

Witness accounts indicate that the victim was last seen with the suspect on Sunday night, about 40 minutes before he left the area alone by taxi. His swift departure and lack of communication with authorities raised immediate suspicions.

The case continues to develop as the investigation unfolds.
