A Hong Kong elderly man died in a fire that broke out in his flat in Kennedy town and the incident led to the forcing of almost 200 other occupants to evacuate the block.
According to the video footage that emerged online on Sunday, it showed the flat in flames and smoke coming from its window.
Police were called to the fire in Block B, Smithfield Terrace, Kennedy Town at 7.34 pm and on their arrival, they discovered the body of a man who was over 70 years of age in the flat, along with a charcoal stove.
Firefighters used a water jet and mobilised a team of breathing equipment to fight the blaze.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, police said.
