A worker from Hong Kong cargo loading area dies after being hit by a pipe


A 55 year-old worker died in Hong Kong cargo loading area on Monday after being hit on the head by steel pipes.


The incident was reported at around 2:15pm at the New Yau Ma Tei Public Cargo Working Area on Hoi Fai Road in Tai Kok Tsui.


According to the report, three pipes of 6 metres in length and 0.25 metre diameter suddenly loosen from its bundle, fell off the truck and hit the worker on the head while loading them on the truck.


The report said the man collapsed and unconscious when other workers called the police. Paramedic arrived on time to rush him to the nearby Kwong Wah Hospital in Yau Ma Tei where he was pronounced dead.

The investigations are ongoing by the Police and Labour Department on the cause of the accident.





香港貨物裝卸區一名工人被管道擊中身亡



週一,一名 55 歲工人在香港貨物裝卸區被鋼管擊中頭部後死亡。


事件於下午2時15分左右在大角咀海輝道新油麻地公眾貨物裝卸區發生。


報告稱,三根長6公尺、0.25公尺的管子突然從捆紮中鬆脫,從卡車上掉下來,砸到正在裝車的工人頭部。


報道稱,當其他工人報警時,男子倒地不起。 醫護人員及時趕到,將他送往附近的油麻地廣華醫院,但在那裡他被宣布死亡。


警方和勞工部正在對事故原因進行調查。
