A 54-year-old male patient was arrested at Princess Margaret Hospital in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong on Friday after he was alleged to have sexually assaulted a nursing student who was carrying out duties in the ward, a local media reported.
The hospital said that the student was suspected to have been indecently assaulted while performing a nursing procedure in a medicine and geriatrics ward.
The male patient was arrested on Thursday as soon as the student reported the indecency to the hospital authority that later informed the police. Hospital said the man was arrested in the ward.
Officers arrested the man in the ward, the hospital added.
A spokesperson said “The hospital is highly concerned about the incident and expressed sympathy to the nursing student,” It was said further that the institution had provided psychological support to the student.
“The hospital resolutely adopts a zero-tolerance attitude to this incident, strongly condemns the indecent acts, and will follow up seriously and fully cooperate with the police investigation.” it was added.
