A mainland Chinese woman drowned and also one of her two brothers who dived into the sea to rescue her on Sunday.
The report after the investigation said that the 57-year-old woman was trying to take a picture while standing at the edge of a cliff when the wave suddenly came and swept her away in the Tai Tau Chau area of Shek O.
To rescue her from being drowned, two of her brothers who were together for the tour dived into the sea, the report said.
The report added that the woman had been hiking in the area with her two brothers, two daughters and another woman traveller from the mainland. The incident happened at the watch of her two daughters.
A police spokesman said another relative of the victims called the emergency services around 1 pm and told officers about the incident.
Afterwards, the emergency officers were able to pull the unconscious woman and her brother, a 55-year-old out of the water about 20 metres offshore.
The two were rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan where they were finally pronounced dead.
The police said that the second older brother who was able to swim ashore is a 61-year-old Hong Kong resident.
The investigation is being carried out where the incident occurred, police said.

警方稱，能夠游上岸的二哥是一名61-61歲的香港居民。
警方表示，調查正在事發地點進行。
