A 60-year-old man who was working at a Hong Kong landfill site died on Monday after being reported to have been trapped in the middle of a truck and part of a bridge.
The incident has resulted in an inquiry by the authorities to investigate the accident which has to be submitted in 5 days.
The incident was reported to the police by one of the deceased colleagues at the North East New Territories Landfill in Ta Kwu Ling at around 2 pm, police said. The colleague told the police that the deceased was trapped between a garbage truck and the building material which supported a bridge and was found unconscious when he took him out.
The paramedics quickly rushed him to North District Hospital in Sheung Shui where he was certified dead at around 3 pm today.
The Labour Department responded to the incident a few hours after it happened by sending their staff to the scene to carry out an investigation.
Also, the Environment Protection Department said on Monday night that the department had “immediately instructed the contractor to fully cooperate with the Labour Department in its investigation and submit a report on the accident within five days”.

此外，環境保護部週一晚間表示，該部門「已立即指示承包商全力配合勞工部調查，並在五天內提交事故報告」。
