A 43-year-old Hong Kong man was arrested on suspicion of strangling his girlfriend to death

A 43-year-old engineer who allegedly strangled his girlfriend to death at her apartment as a result of problems in their relationship has been apprehended by the Hong Kong police.

The 46-year-old woman was found dead at her home in Wah Kay House on Yuk Wah Crescent in Tsz Wan Shan on Saturday, according to the police.

The incident became known after the suspect asked his girlfriend's company's manager on Saturday that the victim had been out of reach since last week Wednesday and the company informed her family after the notice.

Eventually, the case was reported to the police on Saturday evening after the victim’s elder brother and sister found their younger sister dead in her flat on the same day afternoon.

According to a familiar source to the case's statement, the crime squad officers were tasked to look well into the incident as evidence of livor mortis was found in the body while injuries were discovered in the head and neck of the victim.

The victim's girlfriend was interrogated and arrested after a preliminary investigation suggested he strangled her girlfriend to death due to relationship problems.

Detectives from the Wong Tai Sin district crime squad have launched an investigation, the report said.

The man's arrest made it the second murder in the city over the weekend as police also arrested five people on suspicion of killing a 33-year-old man who was struck with a hammer more than 10 times on Pilkem Street in Yau Ma Tei, early morning on Sunday.

報道稱，黃大仙警區重案組探員已展開調查。

該男子被捕，成為週末發生的香港第二起謀殺案，警方還逮捕了五人，涉嫌殺害一名33 歲男子，該男子早前在油麻地庇利金街被人用錘子敲擊超過10 次。
