On January 8, 2025, paramedics responded to a distress call from Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital regarding a 90-year-old man, identified by the surname Cheung. Staff reported that he was discovered hanging in his hospital room, allegedly using clothing to carry out the act.
Emergency responders arrived quickly but found the man unconscious. Despite their efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Authorities reported that no suicide note was located at the scene, and the cause of death is awaiting further investigation through an autopsy.
